Mariam Battistelli


Mariam was born in Ethiopia and is an Italian soprano.


She studied at the 'Lucio Campiani' conservatoire in Mantova.

In 2010 she appeared as Il Paggio in “Rigiletto in Mantova” with Placido Domingo and Ruggero Raimondi, conducted by Zubin Mehta and directed by Marco Bellocchio.

From June 2013 until July 2016 Mariam Battistelli joined the "Centre of Perfeccionament Placido Domingo" in Valencia.

Mariam is the winner of the 1st prize at the 16th International Singing Competition Ottavio Ziino in Rome.

At the Wiener Staatsoper , where she has been a member of the ensemble since the beginning of 2018, she made her debut as Pamina in The Magic Flute for Kids, and she has also sung Cinderella (Cinderella, Alma Deutscher), Gretel (Hänsel & Gretel, Humperdinck), Musetta (La Bohéme, Puccini), Giannetta (L'Elisir d'amore,Donizetti) and Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro, Mozart).

Nowadays Mariam works as freelance singer.
